They were given some of the best seats in the house in a VIP hospitality box in the Grand Stand and had lunch specially prepared by MCC Head Chef Steve Smith.

The day included a personalised tour of the Ground, including the MCC Museum, home to the Ashes Urn, and the Investec Media Centre. The children and their families also got the chance to meet some of the players,
including Essex and England's Ravi Bopara.

Mike Hey, Shooting Star's Community Fundraising Manager said: ‘We are very grateful that MCC invited some of our families to Lord’s again, in what has become an annual highlight for the children and their families. The children have loved watching Middlesex and Essex battle it out and a real thrill for them was meeting some of the players from both teams, including Ravi Bopara.’
