The Shooting Star Trust was founded in 1995 by Kathryn Turner MBE. In 2007 Kathryn was awarded the Queen's Honour for her services to The Shooting Star Children's Hospice. Shooting Star Plaque

After seven years of capital fundraising, the construction of Shooting Star House commenced in January 2003 and took two years to complete. 
We welcomed our first family in August 2005 and the hospice was officially opened by TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in February 2006. TRH The Prince of Wales

Today, 250 families benefit from our care services at the hospice, in the community and in their own homes.
