Caring for a child suffering from a life-limiting or life threatening condition can be a 24-hour job and is physically, emotionally and financially demanding for parents. Siblings can feel left out and parents rarely get any time to themselves. This is when The Shooting Star Children's Hospice, through a range of professional services, can make such a difference.
Our care services are based around the needs of the whole family, so as well as caring for the children and young people, there are activities for siblings and support groups for parents and grandparents. This makes a real difference to families who find themselves in unimaginable circumstances - helping them live life to the full by providing opportunities for fun and laughter, as well as helping them through the tougher times. If you are the parent of a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, please browse through our website for more information or contact us for an informal chat.
To provide short breaks (respite) and palliative care in a 'home from home' environment for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, whilst supporting their families in their own homes, in the community and at the hospice. Enhancing quality of life, when every moment counts.

The Shooting Star Children's Hospice offers children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families supportive care to enhance their quality of life, by providing a happy, safe and loving environment. Working in partnership with families will ensure that the children and young people are able to maximise their physical, emotional, intellectual and social potential.
