The Shooting Star Children's Hospice is committed to working in partnership and in collaboration with other organisations and service providers with the aim of ensuring our children, young people and their families receive the best possible care, advice and support.
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) We work closely with GOSH to ensure the best possible care for our children. One of their Paediatric Palliative Care Consultants spends one day each week with our Care Team and GPs. Also, Dr Jane Collins, Chief Executive of GOSH, is a Patron of Shooting Star. www.gosh.org
London Children's Hospices Alliance (LCHA) We are founding members of the LCHA, comprising Shooting Star House and the two children's hospices in the eastern half of London, Haven House and Richard House. Our vision is "To support all life-limited children and their families in London." www.lcha.org.uk
London Children's Palliative Care Network (LCPCN) This network brings together various stakeholders in children's palliative care - statutory and voluntary sectors, social care and education. Shooting Star plays a leading role in the development of the LCPCN with Chief Executive, Dalton Leong, chairing the North West London sub-group. We are also actively involved in the South West London sub-group. www.act.org.uk/index.php/act/london.html
Children's Hospices UK Children's Hospices UK is the national charity which gives voice and support to all children's hospice services and plays a key role in lobbying and promoting best practice to achieve the best possible care services. Shooting Star's Chief Executive, Dalton Leong, is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. www.childhospice.org.uk
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity We enjoy a working partnership with RTCC who provide care services complementary to ours. We adopt a joint approach in our negotiations with local Primary Care Trusts and local authorities who support families within our catchment areas. http://www.rainbowtrust.org.uk/
Fair Play for Children's Hospices Founded by our Patron, the late Neil Bruce Copp OBE, the Fair Play for Children's Hospices campaign works alongside Children's Hospices UK aiming to secure a government commitment to provide sustained, long-term funding for children's hospice services, towards parity with adult hospices. http://www.fairplayforchildren.org.uk/
The Children's Palliative Care Society of Latvia We have a twinning link with the Children's Palliative Care Society (CPCS) of Latvia, which is the first and currently only palliative care service, founded and developed within the University Children's Clinic Hospital in Riga. This was developed initially for sharing practices, with CPCS setting up a community home care service to support the Riga district. Plans may extend to building the first children's hospice in Latvia. http://www.palliative.lv/33/99
Association for Children's Palliative Care (ACT) ACT is the only organisation working across the UK raising awareness of the needs and experiences of children with life limiting conditions and their families and lobbying to improve services and ensure that children and their families receive the best quality of life and care.
