a gift in your will

A giftb in your willMaking a Will is a way of expressing your love for family and friends and also provides a way to help good causes. This is one of the most important ways you can choose to support Shooting Star.

There's a common misconception that a legacy has to be a large amount of money. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference to our work.

The advantages of making a Will is that you get to choose how your assets are divided after your death, rather than someone else deciding on your behalf, which could happen if you do not have a Will. You will also be able to reduce the tax payable on your legacy. A donation made to The Shooting Star Children's Hospice is free from inheritance tax.

Any professionally qualified solicitor can write a will for you. It is also a good idea to review your will on a regular basis (typically every seven years).

People choose to remember us in their Will in a variety of ways. Gifts can be, a share (or percentage) of your estate, a set monetary sum or specific gifts (like a house, some land or possessions like jewellery).

remember a loved one

You can also support the work of Shooting Star by donating in memory of someone. This is a poignant and touching way to celebrate the life of a loved one and will help us to enhance quality of life when every moment counts for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
