DESCRIPTION:Memory Day is a special day to remember and treasure the life of your child. \n\n\n\n\n  \nWhether your child was supported by our hospice for many years\, you began receiving our care after they died\, or you are new to our service\, Memory Day is a day especially for you and your family. \n  \nThis year\, we are holding three Memory Day events: \n  \nFriday 19 June 2026 – Shooting Star House\, Hampton \nSaturday 20 June 2026 – Shooting Star House\, Hampton \n\n\nWednesday 24 June 2026 – Gate Street Barn\, Bramley (near Guildford) \n  \nPlease make sure you RSVP to the specific Memory Day you plan to attend. You are welcome to choose the date and location that best suits you and your family. \n  \nOn the day\, you will be warmly welcomed with drinks and refreshments\, followed by a remembrance service. This includes candle lighting and a shared video montage\, offering time and space to reflect and remember together. Afterwards\, we will provide lunch and invite you to take part in creating a keepsake in memory of your child. \n  \nYou will have the opportunity to request a personalised star for the Memory Tree in the Shooting Star House Memory Garden\, or a leaf for the Memory Tree in Christopher’s Memory Garden. Each star or leaf will be engraved with your child’s name and you will be able to place this on the tree during the day if you wish. A link to the request form will be shared in your order confirmation email. \n\nPlease RSVP by Friday 29 May 2026.\nWe very much hope you can join us for one of our Memory Day events. Meet up with other families to share your experience or make memories on your own; it’s up to you. We have a yurt reserved between 11am-2pm for a break or lunch. A member of staff will be here during these times if you require any assistance. Bring your own lunch\, or there is food that you can purchase onsite. \nShooting Star staff will be on site from 10am until 3.30pm in branded uniform. During 11am and 2pm there will be a member of staff in the yurt at all times. \nTickets are for immediate family members only. Children under 18 must be with an adult. \nPlease book a ticket for each immediate family member known to SSCH who will be with you. We may not be able to supply your desired number of tickets if you do not book the correct number of tickets on Eventbrite. \nYour Eventbrite confirmation email is NOT your ticket. A member of the team will confirm that you have been successful in your request once we have seen your request. \nCarers do not need to request a ticket; they can enter for free. DESCRIPTION:Runs once per month from 5th March – 13th August  2026.\nWe really value offering a safe and supportive space for our families. Our Parent support group is facilitated by a qualified Counsellor and led by you.\n\nTogether we’ll commit to creating a compassionate and non-judgmental environment\, where parents can share experiences\, learn from each other\, and find support in coping with your grief.\n\nThe 6-session support group will run at the same time every month.  This is an in-person group at Shooting Star House.\n\n\nThose who have attended our Bereaved Parents Support Group have said how helpful it is to learn from each other and support each other. Our Parent support group is facilitated by a qualified Counsellor and led by you.\n\nTogether we’ll commit to creating a compassionate and non-judgmental environment\, where parents can share experiences\, learn from each other\, and find support in coping with your grief.\n\nThe 6-session support group will run at the same time every month.  This is a  virtual group\, there will also be an in person group at Shooting Star House.\n\n\nThose who have attended our Bereaved Parents Support Group have said how helpful it is to learn from each other and support each other. DESCRIPTION:Our doors are open for families to drop-in to our post-Christmas Bereavement Café at Shooting Star House our Bereavement Centre on Tuesday 30 December. All family members and children are welcome\, there will be activities on-site for all to do. We invite you to come as you are\, no matter how you might be feeling.\n\nShooting Star realise the importance of a support network during the holidays and wants to do everything we can. We will gather in the dining room\, stay as long or as little as you wish\, with coffee\, cake\, and fruit\, and our Family Support Workers are there to chat\, listen\, or just be with you if you don’t feel able to speak.\nParking is on site on a first-come\, first-served basis\, please just pull up to the gates to be let in.\nIf you would like to bring a pet to a cafe please complete the pet request form at least a week in advance. \nNo need to RSVP.

Meet Santa’s reindeer up close\, take photos\, and enjoy some festive treats! \nThis event is wheelchair friendly\, but a little off roading is required. Please note this is an outside event\, so make sure to wrap up warm. There is parking onsite\, if you can car share then we would recommend that you do. \nFurther instructions \nThe postcode is GU10 2HL. You will see a small island with a tree planted in the middle – just in front of the black metal gates. When you arrive at the magical Silverbeck\, you will see black ornate gates and a buzzer. Be sure to press the buzzer for Silverbeck (not the farm). Wiggle your way down the driveway and keep going towards the barn. \nWe have families arriving after your slot as well!
