SUMMARY:Shooting Star House Memory Day 2025
DESCRIPTION:Memory Day is a special day to remember and treasure the life of your child. Whether your child was supported by our hospice for years\, you started receiving our support after they died\, or you are new to our service\, this is a day for you. \nThere are two memory days\, one at Christopher’s (Guildford) and this event at Shooting Star (Hampton). You can choose to attend either.\nAt Memory Day you will be welcomed with a tea\, coffee\, shortbread and brownies. There is a short service of remembrance\, as well as a video montage including photos of your child\, and a buffet lunch. You can create a keepsake in memory of your child. \nYou can choose to bring 6 members of your family\, including your child’s grandparents\, aunts or uncles. We will organise a taxi for you if you do not have your own transport. \nIf you have not done so before\, you can have a star for the Memory Tree in the Shooting Star House Memory Garden or leaf for the Memory Tree in Christopher’s Memory Garden. This would be engraved with your child’s name and there would be time for you to place this on the tree yourself.\nWe invite you to have a page in the Memory Book with a photo and words dedicated to your child\, and you will have time during the day to have a look at examples of how this might look. \nSubmitting your information\nIn order for the video\, as well as your star or leaf\, to be ready for your Memory Day\, it is essential that you complete all sections of the form. Please book places by Saturday 31 May. \nWe do hope you are able to attend Memory Day and we look forward to hearing from you. DESCRIPTION:Santa’s reindeer are gearing up for their annual ‘fly-in’ before they head to the North Pole for Christmas! 🎅🦌 \nGet ready to experience the magic of Christmas with Santa’s special helpers on Friday 20 December 2024 at 10am. Meet Santa’s reindeer up close\, take photos\, and enjoy fun games and festive treats! \nThis event is wheelchair friendly\, but a little off roading is required. Please note this is an outside event\, so make sure to wrap up warm. There is parking onsite\, if you can car share then we would recommend that you do. \nFurther instructions \nThe postcode is GU10 2HL. You will see a small island with a tree planted in the middle – just in front of the black metal gates. When you arrive at the magical Silverbeck\, you will see black ornate gates and a buzzer. Be sure to press the buzzer for Silverbeck (not the farm). Wiggle your way down the driveway and keep going towards the barn. \nWe have families arriving after your hour slot as well! There is no ramp into the barn\, a slight step up\, so it might be a wiggle and a jiggle to get wheelchair users in\, but it’s possible! We also recommend wellies and coats are worn. \nPlease save slots for the children\, so if you can manage with one adult ticket and the rest children in your group that would be wonderful – thank you! \nDon’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to create lasting memories with your loved ones. We hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:Our staff and in-house children invite you to join us on Friday 13 December 2024 at 4:30pm for a magical evening filled with beautiful carols and festive cheer. Bring your siblings and grandparents to Christopher’s for a night filled with Christmas cheer. \nWe are lucky to have some volunteers from Corporate Partner\, RSL Awards\, to lead some Carols by Candlelight. After the carol singing\, we will have hot chocolate and delicious gingerbread treats. This event is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and create lasting memories with your loved ones. \nChristmas jumpers are always welcome but optional! Dame Joan has supported the charity since 2003 and holds the charity very close to her heart.
