Wear comfortable clothing as you will be invited to join a relaxation session\, designed to promote peace and calm. \nThis event offers a unique opportunity for you to recharge\, feel pampered\, and form supportive relationships with other Mum’s. \nWe understand that schedules can change\, and it may be necessary to cancel\, so please let us know in advance to allow us to fill your place with another deserving Mum. Please do not book if you attended the last event\, to allow other mums to make use of this event. DESCRIPTION:Our Bereaved Parents group is a 6-session programme (generally the first Thursday of each Month starting on the 11th January 7pm-8:30pm at Shooting Star House) where parents whose child has died 6 months to 3 years ago\, can come together and be supported by our counsellors and each other by talking about a range of issues that can affect bereaved families. Please note this is a new group\, for a new set of parents to attend. \nDates:\n1st Feb\n7th March\n18th April\n9th May\n13th June \nWe will cover a range of topics from dealing with birthdays\, siblings and their grief\, handling possessions\, and learning to live with grief. \nThe group will have the same members throughout and attendance at all the sessions is important. \nIf both parents/step-parents plan to attend\, please make sure you book a ticket for each parent attending. \nHot drinks and biscuits will be provided\, please ensure you eat beforehand.

DESCRIPTION:Father Christmas’s reindeer are getting ready to go to the North Pole soon\, but before they go they wanted to invite our special families to come and see them. \nWe hope you can make it to our second session for bereaved families. Wheelchair friendly\, but a little off-roading is required. Please note this is an outside event\, so wrap up warm. Parking onsite\, if you can car share then we would recommend that you do. GU10 2HL. You will see a small island with a tree planted in the middle – just in front of the black metal gates \nWhen you arrive at the magical Silverbeck\, you will see black ornate gates and a buzzer \nBe sure to press the buzzer for Silverbeck (Not the Farm) \nWiggle your way down the driveway and keep going towards the barn. Parking is available but please park sensibly. We have families arriving after your hour slot as well! Note there is no ramp into the barn\, a slight step up\, so it might be a wiggle and a jiggle to get wheelchair users in\, but it’s possible! Very uneven ground and wellies/coats are recommended. Please save slots for the children\, so if you can manage with 1 adult ticket and the rest children in your group that would be magical! Thank you!

DESCRIPTION:Our doors are open on specific Thursday mornings\, welcoming families to drop-in to our Bereavement Café at Shooting Star House our Bereavement Centre. There is coffee\, cake and fruit and our Family Support Workers there to chat\, listen\, or just be with you if you don’t feel able to speak. Everyone welcome\, including siblings\, grandparents\, or a different friend/family member. We invite you to come as you are\, no matter how you might be feeling. Parking is on-site. Just pull up to the gates to be let in. Stay as long or little as you wish. \nIf you’d like to ask any questions\, please email familysupport@shootingstar.org.uk \nShooting Star realise the importance of a support network and want to do anything we can to help build that. We will gather in the dining room\, but please note that hospice day to day practice will continue at Shooting Star House. Parking is on site on a first come first serve basis\, please just pull up to the gates to be let in. No need to RSVP we will text you the day before to remind you.

DESCRIPTION:Glide into the festive season by joining us at Hampton Court Palace for a special evening for all the family. Shooting Star has been kindly given a private appointment just for us to zoom\, dance\, and twirl on the ice. There are ramps to ensure that all of our families can reach the ice rink. Afterwards let’s warm up with a warm cup of cocoa and some nibbles. Please make sure you allocate one ticket per person\, by providing a name for each ticket to avoid disappointment. We recommend you arrive no later than 7-7.15pm to have enough time on the ice.
