DESCRIPTION:Official Scout Group – at Christopher’s for children and young people with a life-limiting condition aged 6+.\n  \nWe would love to invite a small group of young people who are aged 6+ to embark on their Scouting journey. Scouting is an all-inclusive youth group that welcomes young people of all abilities. Our Scout Group is affiliated with the 9th Guildford Scout Group. \n  \nScouting is accessible to all and focuses on making reasonable adjustments to activities\, badges\, and awards to ensure everyone can participate and thrive. This includes working with parents and carers to understand individual needs and provide appropriate support. At Scouts\, we’re open to all. Our main priority is to make sure that everyone\, be that our young people or our volunteers\, feels welcome and comfortable to take part. \n  \nParents/carers will need to stay with their young people for the session\, and drinks and biscuits will be provided.

DESCRIPTION:A fun-filled day for our bereaved and supported siblings to come together and explore the world of music! \nThis October half term\, siblings aged 5-12 years old are invited to join us at Shooting Star House for a fantastic music-themed holiday club. We’re delighted to be welcoming Rocksteady Music School\, who will be running interactive band sessions where children can have a go at playing instruments\, make music together and experience the excitement of being part of a band. Rocksteady’s inclusive approach encourages creativity\, teamwork and confidence through a shared love of music. \nAlongside these sessions\, there will be plenty of music-themed crafts\, games and activities throughout the day for all ages. \nPlease drop off at 10am; pick up is at 3.00pm. \nOur Siblings’ Holiday Club helps children find comfort in being with other siblings who understand their experiences\, while providing opportunities to make new friends and have fun together. \nActivities are supported by our Events and Family Support teams to ensure there is a familiar face to welcome everyone. UV lights\, and a light up floor turn the room into a magical space full of stars and lights. Get your glow-in-the-dark face paint and flourescent fingernails and take to the floor with glowsticks and music. Try out the interactive games and experience activities to stimulate your senses. \n  \nGLOW is a sensory experience for everyone. There will be snacks\, drinks and plenty of light up activities. DESCRIPTION:Come and join our creative\, crafty Christmas workshop! \n\n\n\n\n  \nJoin us for a relaxed and creative festive workshop with Lorraine from Hedges & Hurdles. Take some time for yourself\, enjoy a hot drink and some refreshments\, and spend time chatting with other parents. \n  \nDuring the session\, Lorraine will guide you step by step in weaving two beautiful Swedish Stars from willow in contrasting colours. These can be combined to create a unique festive decoration to take home and enjoy year after year. \n  \nAll materials will be provided\, although you’re welcome to bring along any extra decorations or finishing touches if you’d like to make your creation even more personal. \n  \nThis event is for adults only and childcare will not be available. We encourage you to arrive 15 minutes before the workshop starts so you can settle in\, grab a drink and have a chat before we begin. \n  \nWhether you’re a seasoned crafter or trying something new\, we’d love to welcome you for a relaxed morning of creativity\, conversation and festive cheer. DESCRIPTION:The new café launches on Friday 16th October 2026 \nA welcoming\, weekly drop-in space for families at Christopher’s Hospice.  A regular\, informal opportunity for families to meet\, access support\, maybe try a craft and enjoy refreshments together. \nStaff from our Community\, Family Support\, Counselling and Therapies teams will be on hand each week with a chance to catch up with our In-House team too\, over a coffee or tea. \nThe Garden Room Café is a safe space to share experiences in a friendly\, relaxed atmosphere. You may see familiar faces\, or get to know new families\, become more familiar with the hospice and learn how we can support you and how you can support each other. \nThe Café will open its doors for the first time on Friday 16th October. It will run every Friday morning from 10.00-11.30am.   \nThere is no need to book\, just sign in at Christopher’s reception and join us in the Garden Room. \nThis is a space for\, parents\, grandparents and other adult family members. DESCRIPTION:Join us for Carols by Candlelight at Christopher’s for a night filled with Christmas cheer\, featuring the Wey Community Gospel Choir. \n\n\n\n  \nJoin other Shooting Star families and staff at Christopher’s on Wednesday 2nd December 2026 at 6:00pm for a magical evening filled with songs\, stories and carols to kickstart the festive season. Parents\, grandparents\, siblings and other family members all welcome. \n  \nWey Community Gospel Choir\, based in Guildford\, is returning for a second year. The inclusive choir brings people together through the joy of singing. With wellbeing at its heart\, the choir offers a fun\, supportive space where everyone can feel uplifted\, connected\, and empowered through gospel music. Their performances reflect the harmony\, energy\, and warmth that define the group. \n  \nAfter the carol singing\, we will have hot chocolate and delicious homemade gingerbread treats. Get into the holiday spirit and create lasting memories with your loved ones. \n  \nChristmas jumpers are optional but always welcome! \n  \nPlease make sure to book a ticket for each person you plan to bring and book early to avoid disappointment.

He will welcome you in\, you can sit on his sleigh\, sing songswith him and children will receive a special gift.  \n  \nThere is parking onsite\, just outside Santa’s Grotto. Wheelchairs are welcome\, with just a small step to enter the grotto. We also recommend wellies and coats -it can be chilly in Churt in November. \n  \nFurther instructions \nThe postcode is GU10 2HL.\nDrive along Jumps Road\, until you see a small\, round brick island with a tree planted in the middle. There will be a blue Shooting Star sail to mark the spot – just in front of a set of black metal gates. Press the buzzer for Silverbeck (not the farm) and the gates will open. Wind your way down the magical\, tree-lined driveway and head round to the right towards the barn. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exciting day out at Clip ‘n Climb Croydon! Siblings will have the opportunity to take on a range of fun climbing challenges\, build confidence and enjoy time together. After their climbing session\, lunch will be provided with pizza\, garlic bread and drinks included. \nPlease drop off at 10.30am and collect at 1.00pm from Clip ‘n Climb Croydon\, The Colonnades Leisure Park\, Purley Way\, Croydon\, CR0 4RQ. \nPlease ensure your sibling is dressed in comfortable clothing suitable for climbing and brings any medication they may need during the event. \nOur siblings’ socials provide an opportunity for young people to meet others who understand their experiences\, make new friends and enjoy some well-deserved fun together. \nYour child must be aged 5 – 12 years old to attend. For older children\, please look out for our teen sibling social events for ages 12+. \nThe event will be supported by our Events and Family Support Teams.
