SUMMARY:Sensory Day at Christopher's
DESCRIPTION:Sensory Days are specifically for children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties between the ages of 5 and 21\, and their families. \nSensory days generally run in the school holidays and are a chance for the whole family to be involved in a fun session and have the opportunity to explore and experience appropriate sensory activities together. \nSensory Days are usually divided into two sessions: a morning session for children between 5 and 10 years and an afternoon session for children 11 years and older. \nEach session is a fun and interactive time using a mix of sensory and craft activities around a theme for the day such as ‘The Seaside’ or ‘Fun at the Fair’ with a break for refreshments. \nThe days gives families the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation and experience new skills using sensory activities that they can use at home. \nPlease be aware that all event dates are provisional and will be confirmed in the event invitation.

DESCRIPTION:Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate. It is widely used in many educational and social environments and many of the children at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices benefit from it. \nAt Friendly Hands Makaton and Music Sessions you can learn key Makaton signs in a relaxed\, informal manner. Our team prepare a popular song and find specific words within the lyrics that are valuable for us to know how to sign. \nAt Friendly Hands you can learn the signs and enjoy practicing them within the song. This can help you to remember many new signs! \nAt the end of the session we video what we have learned and upload this to our website and social media\, so that children\, families and staff can sing and sign the song at other times. \n  \nWatch some of our previous performances: \n \nPlease be aware that all event dates are provisional and will be confirmed in the event invitation. \n

DESCRIPTION:Our Youth club meets on a Friday in term time in Guildford every month.  Once a year we go off site to an adapted campsite for 2 nights. \nInclusive activities include film nights\, sports activities\, workshops and more. DESCRIPTION:We’d love to welcome all of our supported families to our Family Fun Day! There will be a BBQ\, a children’s entertainer\, a band\, a choir and lots\, lots more! \nThis year’s theme is ‘Disney’ and there will be prizes on the day for the best fancy dress. \n*Due to how busy the hospice car park is on the day of the Family Fun Day\, no cars are allowed on site. SUMMARY:Sensory Day at Holly Lodge
DESCRIPTION:Sensory Days are specifically for children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties between the ages of 5 and 21\, and their families. \nSensory days run in the school holidays and are a chance for the whole family to be involved in a fun session and have the opportunity to explore and experience appropriate sensory activities together. \nSensory Days are usually divided into two sessions: a morning session for children between 5 and 10 years and an afternoon session for children 11 years and older. \nEach session is a fun and interactive time using a mix of sensory and craft activities around a theme for the day such as ‘The Seaside’ or ‘Fun at the Fair’ with a break for refreshments. \nThe days gives families the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation and experience new skills using sensory activities that they can use at home.
