DESCRIPTION:Scouts is coming to Christopher’s!\nOfficial Scout Group – at Christopher’s for children and young people with a life-limiting condition aged 6+. \nWe would love to invite a small group of young people who are aged 6+ to embark on their Scouting journey. Scouting is an all-inclusive youth group that welcomes young people of all abilities. Our Scout Group is affiliated with the 9th Guildford Scout Group. \nScouting is accessible to all and focuses on making reasonable adjustments to activities\, badges\, and awards to ensure everyone can participate and thrive. This includes working with parents and carers to understand individual needs and provide appropriate support. At Scouts\, we’re open to all. Our main priority is to make sure that everyone\, be that our young people or our volunteers\, feels welcome and comfortable to take part. \nParents/carers will need to stay with their young people for the session\, and drinks and biscuits will be provided. \nThe first group meeting will be information sharing and taking order details for your Scout uniform items (at no cost to families). We will then share the rest of the meeting dates with you\, term time only. We can’t wait to launch this special group with the families of Shooting Star.

DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to share that Merlin Magic Wand has shared some tickets with us to their attractions for families to enjoy. You can choose from one of the following Merlin attractions to visit this year: \n\n\n\nThorpe Park\nLegoland\nChessington World of Adventures\nSea Life\nMadame Tussauds\nLondon Dungeon\nShrek’s Adventure\nLondon Eye\n\n\n\nPlease note that tickets are available for immediate family members only (parents or siblings) and are only for those who have not yet had tickets from us for any other of the Merlin attractions this year. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. \nPlease request 1 ticket per immediate family member attending (up to 5 members per family)\, and fill out the order form with your 1st\, 2nd and 3rd choice of attraction to avoid disappointment. Ticket codes will be sent to you directly once processed via our family support team email. We hope to send it to you by the end of July. Please note the Eventbrite confirmation email is NOT your ticket. \nOnce you have received your ticket code\, you can book the date of your choice through Merlin – dates are non-transferable. Please note that all tickets need to be used by the end of September 2025. \nPlease read all the information very carefully when your tickets are issued. SUMMARY:Sailing Social for supported young people
DESCRIPTION:This event is for supported young people aged 10 upwards. \nFrensham Sailability say: \n“Our sailors frequently comment that\, when sailing\, they are freed from their limitations and can compete on equal terms with any able-bodied sailor. We help you do this by providing a range of specially designed boats and the necessary support facilities. With the help of our experienced volunteers\, you can learn to sail\, or enjoy sailing again\, and develop your skills as far as you wish – to international competition level if you want!” \nNo previous experience of sailing is necessary\, but the use of hands is required. \nNew sailors can go out with an experienced ‘buddy’ who will explain what sailing involves. However\, our mission is to encourage independent sailing as much as possible. Frensham Pond provides a uniquely safe environment for this. \nThis is an opportunity for your children to experience sailing and the freedom of being in control of their boat. They will have the opportunity to go out on a 1-1 smaller boat with an experienced volunteer and in a bigger group boat if their mobility allows.” \nAll safety equipment and wet weather gear is provided\, along with access to the clubhouse where parents and carers are welcome to stay for the duration or can spectate from dry land. Please know that this event requires parents and caregivers to remain on site at all times\, and they are responsible for the care of the young people at all times \nPlease bring along a packed lunch and any medical equipment (we will provide cake and snacks)\, a change of clothes and a towel (good old British weather may mean we sail in the rain). \nThis opportunity is suitable for young people aged 10 and over who would enjoy socialising with others.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to welcome you to our first sensory Move and Groove event\, run jointly by our music therapist and physiotherapist. \nThe session will start with a sensory story\, a combination of music and movement\, and will then lead into a sensory yoga session run by our wonderful volunteer Mary. \nPlease note this event is for supported children and young people who would benefit from a sensory session.
