DESCRIPTION:To kick off Children’s Hospice Week\, we are delighted to open our doors to Shooting Star House\, our hospice in Hampton!\nThis is a fantastic chance to explore our facilities\, meet our incredible Family Support team\, and learn about the specialist support we offer to families with a child or young person facing a life-limiting condition or who have been bereaved. \nShooting Star House is our Outreach\, Therapies and Family Support Centre where families can access bereavement support\, counselling\, therapies\, drop-in sessions\, sibling groups\, family activities and interactive play sessions\, and meet with our team of family support workers. The work they do truly transforms the lives of the families we care for\, and we would love for you to come and see the difference it makes first-hand. \nOur commitment doesn’t end at Hampton’s gates. Our Guildford hospice\, Christopher’s\, is where our overnight care is provided\, as well as a comprehensive range of therapies and activities. Though you won’t be visiting Christopher’s during our open day\, we would be more than happy to chat about the brilliant work happening there with you during your visit. \nWe have two bookable slots available on Friday 13 June. Our first slot is from 10:00am-11:00am\, and our second slot is from 11am-12 noon. These slots are designed to help manage the flow of visitors around the building and ensure we do not exceed capacity. However\, you’re welcome to stay on after your time slot and enjoy refreshments\, games and visiting our stalls until the hospice closes to the public at 1:30pm. \nIf you have any questions about the day\, please take a look at our FAQ’s. DESCRIPTION:Please join us in celebrating and remembering the lives of your loved ones at our Light up a Star service. This remembrance service will include poems\, music and a moment of reflection as we all come together to light lanterns in memory of a loved one. The service will be followed by light refreshments\, a Christmas stall and a chance to talk and connect with each other. \nTickets are £5 (free for 12 and under) and include a Remembrance Lantern. Your Remembrance Lantern will be posted to you ahead of the event. We would encourage you to decorate your lantern in memory of your loved one and bring it with you to the service. \nIf you are unable to join us on the day the event will also be livestreamed on the All Saints Church Hampton YouTube page\, and will be available to watch later. Additionally\, if you would like to light a lantern at home instead of attending then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via supportercare@shootingstar.org.uk. \nThis year\, we are delighted to say that you can pre-order some Christmas knitted novelties ahead of the service. You will find this option on the booking page. There will also be an opportunity to purchase Christmas cards and knitted novelties at the end of the service. The knitted novelties have been generously made for us by supporters and all proceeds will go towards Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. \nAs you may already know\, it costs £12 million a year to run Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. Just 29% of our funding comes from the government\, so we rely on our supporters’ generosity to keep our vital care service running. If you would like to make a donation\, we will have collection cans and card machines available on the night. We understand that this may not be feasible for all and encourage you to donate what you are comfortable giving. If you would like your donation to be added as a contribution to an existing tribute fund\, please mention your loved one’s name when booking. \nThank you for all your continued support and for making such a difference to the work that we do. \nPlease note that the venue is in the ULEZ zone. DESCRIPTION:Santa in the City fun run is back again for 2025 and on 2nd December. We do hope you can join us for London’s most festive and most iconic Santa Run. \nStarting at 7.00 pm in Paternoster Square\, run the 4.0km festive fun run. \nYour route will start by going past St Paul’s Cathedral and then across the Millennium Bridge\, where you will enjoy world-famous views of Tower Bridge\, The Shard of London\, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. \nYou will then go over Southwark Bridge and join the Thames Path\, where you will head towards the Tower of London and Tower Bridge via some of London’s most unknown hidden paths. \nYou will then return through the City\, back over Southwark Bridge to the lively Bankside area\, on the south side of the River Thames. \nAfter another 500m\, you will cross the Millennium Bridge again and once again take in the views of St Paul’s Cathedral as you head towards the finish line in Paternoster Square\, completing a truly iconic route! \nYou thought it couldn’t get better! Once again\, this is a truly iconic route! No previous experience is needed for a 4k like this. The route is relatively flat and you can either run\, jog or walk. Bring all the family along. This event will definitely get you feeling festive! \nOther dates available: 3rd & 4th December!

DESCRIPTION:Our popular Christmas Tree Collection service is back for another year. \nShooting Star Children’s Hospices’ Christmas Tree Collection will return this January. Let us take the hassle out of recycling your tree – no needles in your car or trips to the tip. We welcome a minimum suggested donation and will be collecting real trees from selected GU\, KT and TW postcodes.
