DESCRIPTION:Memory Day is a safe space to join other families in treasuring your memories and the life of your child. This year we will be holding three memory days\, and you can choose to attend whichever one you prefer. \nAt Memory Day you will be welcomed with a tea\, coffee\, shortbread and brownies. There will be a short service of remembrance featuring a video montage including photos of your child\, and a buffet lunch. You can create a craft in memory of your child or visit our ‘Wall of Love’. \nIf you have not done so before\, we would like to offer you a star for the Memory Tree in the Shooting Star House Memory Garden or leaf for the Memory Tree in Christopher’s Memory Garden. This would be engraved with your child’s name and there would be time for you to hang this yourself. We invite you to have a page in the Memory Book with a photo and words dedicated to your child. \nTo be as safe as possible\, Memory Day will be held at Shooting Star House\, with the opportunity to travel to Christopher’s after the service to visit or hang your child’s leaf in the Memory Garden. We are only able to invite parents and siblings. However\, if you are attending alone\, you can bring a friend or relative to support you. \n  \nSubmitting your information\nIn order for the video\, star\, leaf and Memory Book to be ready for your Memory Day\, it is essential that we receive your booking form by Thursday 28th April 2022. DESCRIPTION:Michael Ball OBE has announced a very special concert\, We Are More Than One\, for one night only at the iconic London Palladium on Saturday 11 June in aid of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. \nMichael\, who is one of our patrons\, will perform all his biggest hits\, including music from West End shows and more. \nKaren Sugarman\, Executive Vice-President at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices said\, “Michael has been a truly amazing supporter for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices over the years and we’re thrilled he’s putting on this concert in aid of us.” \nMichael Ball OBE has brought the world of music and stage to Shooting Star Children’s Hospices with three star-studded concerts\, raising money for vital transportation at both hospices to help children and teenagers enjoy days out. \nThe charity has benefited from a special evening at Michael’s award-winning ‘Sweeney Todd’\, as well as winning £50\,000 on ‘Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ and £6\,600 on ‘Celebrity Catchphrase’. In 2020\, Michael took part in a special virtual fundraiser with fellow singer and the charity’s Vice-President Tony Hadley.

DESCRIPTION:The Sunrise Walk is a unique and unmissable event organised by our fundraising team. Many of our families (and their furry friends) have enjoyed participating in previous years. Read on to find out all about the walk and complimentary places for families. \nAfter a two-year hiatus we’re thrilled that our renowned Richmond Sunrise Walk is back – we are ready to welcome you so you can enjoy the stunning sights South-West London has to offer as the sunrises. \nOur picturesque Richmond route – ideal for families with young children due to the mostly flat terrain – takes participants past famous sights including the River Thames\, Hampton Court and the beautiful and wildlife packed Bushy and Richmond Parks. \nWith 10km and 20km routes available everyone from family\, friends\, and the dog of course\, can experience the stunning surroundings bathed in glorious dawn sunshine. \nIt’s not just the early hour that sets our Sunrise Walks apart from other challenges\, they offer the perfect opportunity to reflect\, celebrate and remember loved ones.  At the start of our walks\, we have a memory tree where walkers can hang special lanterns which can be personally decorated and are available on request when you register. \nWhat’s more\, once you complete the walk you can relax with a hot breakfast\, a Sunrise Walk medal\, and the knowledge you’ve taken part in our hospice’s flagship event.  As a supported family there’s no requirement to fundraise. If you would prefer to just come walk with us and light a lantern in memory of your child\, you are more than welcome to do so. Many of our supported families come back year after year. \nThe event is open to all ages. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. Responsibility as to whether those under 7 (our previous lower age limit) can complete the walk within a reasonable time\, lies solely with the parent/guardian. \nWe are delighted to be able to offer our families five free places per supported family.  To get your code\, please email events@shootingstar.org.uk and we will send through the registration link.

DESCRIPTION:We are delighted that Hampton Court Golf Club has offered a morning for Supported Dads to come together at their club. \nThe day will start at 9.30am with coffee/tea and a bacon roll. We will then head to the driving range where will we be having a lesson with a golf pro before trying out our skills on the driving range.  We are invited to head to the bar area after to finish the day off.  You can bring your own clubs if you have them! \nWe hope it will give you an opportunity to meet and chat with other supported Dads\, as well as enjoy learning a new skill. We have a maximum of 16 places so do apply asap!
