SUMMARY:Bereavement Café at Shooting Star House
DESCRIPTION:Our doors are open on Thursday mornings\, welcoming families to drop-in to our Bereavement Café at Shooting Star House\, our Bereavement Centre. There is coffee\, cake and fruit and our Family Support Workers are there to chat\, listen\, or just be with you if you don’t feel able to speak. Everyone welcome\, including siblings\, grandparents\, or a different friend or family member. We invite you to come as you are\, no matter how you might be feeling. Parking is on-site. Just pull up to the gates to be let in. Stay as long or as little as you wish. \nSchools are welcome to bring groups of pupils who knew a child who has died to attend as a one-off\, or for successive weeks. Teachers usually identify a small group of pupils who were close to the child who has died. The cafe provides a safe space where they can make crafts and keepsakes\, and talk to others about how grief can make you feel.  If you would like to bring a group of pupils from your school to our centre\, please contact us before attending. \nIf you’d like to ask any questions\, please email familysupport@shootingstar.org.uk \nShooting Star realise the importance of a support network and wants to do anything we can to help build that. We will gather in the dining room\, but please note that hospice day-to-day practice will continue at Shooting Star House.\nAfter cafe\, you are welcome to stay as long as you wish to continue conversations. Scouting is an all-inclusive youth group that welcomes young people of all abilities. Our Scout Group is affiliated with the 9th Guildford Scout Group. \n  \nScouting is accessible to all and focuses on making reasonable adjustments to activities\, badges\, and awards to ensure everyone can participate and thrive. This includes working with parents and carers to understand individual needs and provide appropriate support. At Scouts\, we’re open to all. Our main priority is to make sure that everyone\, be that our young people or our volunteers\, feels welcome and comfortable to take part. \n  \nParents/carers will need to stay with their young people for the session\, and drinks and biscuits will be provided.

Please note you must only book tickets for ONE Merlin attraction to use this year. \n  \nPlease note that tickets are available for immediate family members only (parents\, supported children & siblings) and are only for those who have not yet had tickets from us for any other of the Merlin attractions this year. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. \n  \nPlease request 1 ticket per immediate family member attending (up to 5 members per family). Ticket codes will be sent to you directly once processed via our family support team email. We hope to send it to you by the end of July at the latest. DESCRIPTION:A day out at Shrek’s Adventure for you and your family to enjoy together this summer!\n  \n\n\n\n\nWe are delighted to share that Merlin Magic Wand has shared some free tickets with us to Shrek’s Adventure for families to enjoy this summer. Please note you must only book tickets for ONE Merlin attraction to use this year. \n  \nPlease note that tickets are available for immediate family members only (parents\, supported children & siblings) and are only for those who have not yet had tickets from us for any other of the Merlin attractions this year. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. \n  \nPlease request 1 ticket per immediate family member attending (up to 5 members per family). Ticket codes will be sent to you directly once processed via our family support team email. We hope to send it to you by the end of July latest. Please note the Eventbrite confirmation email is NOT your ticket. Tickets will be allocated on a first come\, first served basis. \n  \nOnce you have received your ticket code\, you can book the date of your choice through Merlin – dates are non-transferable. Please note that all tickets need to be used by the end of December 2026. \n  \nPlease read all the information very carefully when your tickets are issued. If you need a wheelchair pass\, please make arrangements via the Merlin website before you arrive. If you arrive on the day without your wheelchair pass\, you will need to queue up and present your blue badge to get the passes that you need. Height restrictions may apply to many rides\, so please check the attraction’s main site to make sure it is suitable before requesting tickets. \n  \nThe day is yours to spend how you wish! Tag up with other families to share your experience or make memories on your own; it’s up to you. Please do take photos and tag Merlin Magic wand and us\, we both love to see your photos! \n  \nWe hope you have an amazing day!
