DESCRIPTION:Glide into the festive season by joining us at Hampton Court Palace for a special evening for all the family. Shooting Star have been given a private appointment just for us to zoom\, dance and twirl on the ice. There are ramps to ensure that all of our families can reach the ice rink. Afterwards lets warm up with a warm cup of coco and some nibbles. Please make sure you allocate one ticket per person\, by providing a name for each ticket to avoid disappointment

SUMMARY:Drop In at Shooting Star House - Christmas Special
DESCRIPTION:For the last 10 years\, along with 100s of other cycling Santa’s\, Njinga have cycled a 20 km route from Richmond\, SW London to deliver gifts to our incredible children at Shooting Star Children’s Hospice. Police are stopping traffic for this special occasion\, so make sure you are here promptly to welcome the cycling Santa’s as they come into the car park at SSH. The dining room will be your space to avoid the crowds and enjoy a hot chocolate in peace. The Santa’s will enter through the garden gate and place their gifts under the tree in Sparkle. These gifts will be scooped up by our Shooting Star Elves and gifted to our children throughout the festive period. Expect a Brass Band and to leave feeling VERY festive indeed. The Santa’s cant stay long as the police can only stop traffic for so long\, but stay with us as you normally would for a Drop In session and we can do some Christmas crafting. \nBetween 9.45am and 10.30am access to the building safely will be very tricky\, so please arrive at 9.15am to avoid the rush! We hope to see you there!!

DESCRIPTION:Come and enjoy a couple of hours playing some retro video games with other memebers of Youth group. We meet a few times a year and encourage the young people to engage and get to know each other. 1 Nurse\, 1 HCA and 2 Family Support Workers will attend the event. We hope to have up to 12 supported children attending. We do ask that if your child has complex care needs\, that you remain close by. We ask that any feeds\, routine medicines and pad changes are completed before the event as there are sadly no changing facilities but there is a disabled toilet. Our nurse will be able to administer emergency medicines if required.

You will have to have a specific date in mind and be prepared to chose a 15 minute time slot for entry on the day. \nThese tickets are not transferable.

Parking onsite\, if you can car share then we would recommend that you do. \nWhen you arrive at the magical Silverbeck\, you will see black ornate gates and a buzzer. Be sure to press the buzzer for Silverbeck (not the farm). \nWiggle your way down the driveway and keep going towards the barn. Parking is available but please park sensibly. We have families arriving after your hour slot as well! Note there is no ramp into the barn\, a slight step up\, so it might be a wiggle and a jiggle to get wheelchair users in\, but it’s possible! Very uneven ground and wellies/coats recommended . Please save slots for the children\, so if you can manage with 1 adult ticket and the rest children in your group that would be magical! Thank you!

DESCRIPTION:Put your best foot forward this New Year and join us for the first Painshill Planet Walk as part of this year’s Shooting Star Space Race. \nThe first event of this year’s mission to return to Earth is a fully accessible 2.5k (or 5k) walk around the beautiful gardens of Painshill which has been transformed into an intergalactic planet trail.  With sensory activities and games along the route\, we are hoping you will join us as we power up our rocket and head home. \nFour-legged friends are of course welcome (on short leads) and prizes will be available for the best-dressed alien\, planet\, family and of course dog! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent and accessibility information\n\nNo flashing lights\nThere will be ambient amplified music in specific areas of the walk. It will only be used as background noise and will not include loud bangs\nThe route is accessible to wheelchairs with a paved route all the way around\, the café and shop are also accessible to wheelchair users.\nAccessible toilets available at the café\nVisit the park’s website for information on how to get to Painshill.

DESCRIPTION:This event is for supported children who are 7-11 years old\, who would benefit from sensory activities. \nBuckle up and prepare to Blast-Off in your rocket on a multisensory exploration of the solar system with this fully immersed out of space experience. There will be an opportunity for everyone to come together but we will break into groups to explore space using lights\, sounds and other exciting materials. Our mission wouldn’t be complete without making sure we are prepared for Valentines day\, so expect to return to earth full of love! \nWe hope to have up to eight supported children attending. We will have 1 Nurse \,1 Health Care Assistant and 2 Family Support Workers at this event at Shooting Star House. We do ask that if your child has complex care needs\, that you remain close by and enjoy a cup of tea in the Dining Room. We ask that any feeds\, routine medicines and pad changes are completed before or after the event. Our nurse will be able to administer emergency medicines if required. \nPlease note that if our astronauts (Nurses) are called away last minute before the event\, we will ask that you have a parent or carer that remains in the room at all times during the event.

Take a deep breath of “air” and enjoy a relaxation session and\, of course\, Siblings Day isn’t complete without a splash in the warm “water” of our Hydrotherapy Pool. \nOur Siblings’ Days help children find comfort in being with other siblings who have similar experiences. All of these activities are supported by one of our Therapists at Shooting Star House. \nPlease bring swimmers\, a towel\, a water bottle and a packed lunch/last night’s dinner in a Tupperware. (NO NUTS PLEASE) Hot chocolate and s’mores will be provided to make sure we are rewarded for our hard work! \nAs before\, evidence of a negative Lateral Flow for children 12 and above needs to be shown to reception at drop off. If anyone at home has tested positive we ask that you test all aged children. We try to encourage our young people to be independent and say goodbye in reception. Please let us know if you think your child might struggle and we can make sure a friendly face is there to greet them. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION HAS NOW CLOSED but don’t worry\, you can still join us!  Please email events@shootingstar.org.uk for full information. \nPut your best foot forward this New Year and join us for the first Painshill Planet Walk as part of this year’s Shooting Star Space Race. \nThe first event of this year’s mission to return to Earth is a fully accessible 2.5k (or 5k) walk around the beautiful gardens of Painshill which has been transformed into an intergalactic planet trail.  With sensory activities and games along the route\, we are hoping you will join us as we power up our rocket and head home. \nFour-legged friends are of course welcome (on short leads) and prizes will be available for the best-dressed alien\, planet\, family and of course dog! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent and accessibility information\n\nFor entry\, you must arrive by 10am otherwise you will have to buy another ticket at the regular Painshill ticket price\nNo flashing lights\nThere will be ambient amplified music in specific areas of the walk. It will only be used as background noise and will not include loud bangs\nThe route is accessible to wheelchairs with a paved route all the way around\, the café and shop are also accessible to wheelchair users.\nAccessible toilets available at the café\nVisit the park’s website for information on how to get to Painshill.

SUMMARY:Siblings Social at the amazing Rugged Earth Adventures
DESCRIPTION:Book a space for your child on the fantastic siblings day at the amazing Ruggerd Earth Adventure centre. The siblings will try all sorts of activities from Nurf guns\, den building\, camp fire building and even cooking their own lunch! \nWear clothes and trainers you don’t mind getting muddy and wet. This event will carry on rain or shine\, there are plenty of places to warm up and dry off. Water bottles\, waterproof coat\, hat and gloves if cold\, change of clothes and wellies are required. \nThere will be ample Shooting Star staff and volunteers\, so your child is well supervised and to ensure they get the most out of their session. \nPlease let us know of any dietary requirements\, allergies or medical needs. Please arrive a little early (10.40am) to fill in a siblings annual consent form where you can tell us about any medication etc. \nWe will run a waiting list for this event\, so please email familyevents@shootingstar.org.uk if you would like to be added to this list. \nPlease arrive promptly to collect your rugged adventurer at 3pm! \nProgramme for the day\, 11am – 3pm:11.00: Welcome and briefing. \n11.15: Nerf tag games. \n12.00: Drink and biscuit break. \n12.10: Bushcraft\, traps and snares. \n12.40: Campfire lunch. \n13.10: Catapults and Axe throwing. \n13.50: Survival fire lighting and marshmallow smores. \n14.30: Nerf lazer spec ops. \n14.55: certificates and farewell. \nActivities info: \nNerf Range: Issued with a camouflage jacket\, safety glasses and choice of favourite Nerf blaster. Two teams will play a variety of nerf tag games on a purpose build zone with barricades\, sandbags and camo nets. \nCatapults: Firing tennis ball from the giant beach catapults to hit as many targets as possible. \nAxe Throwing: Using rubber safety axes thrown at bristle targets to score points. \nSurvival Fire Lighting: One of the most important bushcraft and survival skills\, all will be taught its many uses and methods of lighting both modern and ancient. Cooking marshmallows over the fire is also included in this activity. \nTraps and snares: Our Bushcraft experts teach a variety of techniques which the children will get a chance to practise. \nNerf Laser Ops: Equipped with a new laser tag gun\, guests will play a variety of laser games\, both team and individual. All scores will be collected onto the app. Who will be the top 3 laser nerfers? \nCampfire Meal: Guests are served a fire cooked sausage/vegi sausage bap and variety of snacks including crisps\, fruit and chocolate whilst seated around the campfire. Personal packed lunches can also be eaten in this area. \nFacilities: \nDedicated outdoor and covered briefing tents \nTailor-made covered seating and campfire area for cooking \nBespoke team tag obstacle terrain \nStealth camouflage range \nDedicated\, secure woodland bushcraft teaching area \nStorage area for personal items \nPicnic area indoor and outdoor \nMale/female toilet \nOnsite first aider \nDedicated parking area for cars and coaches and overflow car park
