Hospice at Home
Parents caring for a life-limited child tell us they rarely get the chance to do everyday things. That’s why our Hospice at Home team visit families when they need it most, enabling parents to spend time with their other children, do the shopping, see friends, or even have a bath.
We support families and help them to manage their needs, increase their choice and control and enhance their feelings of comfort and peace of mind.
Our dedicated Hospice at Home team is made up of highly-trained nursing staff and healthcare assistants and supported by therapists, physiotherapists and counsellors.
We provide Hospice at Home support to families based on the medical condition of the child or young person and on the urgent support needs of the family at the time.
Families tell us this service is a life line, providing greater independence, and more time for them to be a family.
“It was so great for Cerys to have some respite from mummy. Her time was filled with singing and cuddles, which she really enjoyed, and it meant I had time to get my hair cut! The Hospice at Home service is amazing. The one and a half hours that I had made me feel like I had been on a mini-holiday, recharging my batteries and putting me in very good spirits. Thank you!”
