Berenberg started supporting Shooting Star Children’s Hospices in early 2017 and raised nearly £17,000 in just seven months. The fundraising at Berenberg kicked off with a bang with seven brave employees cycling 423 miles from their London offices to the Berenberg Headquarters in Hamburg. Each member of staff was set a fundraising target of £500, which in turn would raise £4,500, the team surpassed their own expectations and ended up raising over £10,000 – INCREDIBLE!
In 2018 the route was reversed and a team of cyclists braved insane heat and tropical conditions to cycle from Hamburg to London raised a further £9,000. Following this in September a team of 18 conquered the 24 hours 3 Peaks Challenge, reaching one of the summits in total darkness.
Further fundraising activities have included various office fundraising activities and staff taking on the Shooting Star Children’s Hospices Apprentice Shop Challenge. Teams from Berenberg took over three of the Shooting Star Children’s Hospices charity shops and raised over £4,000 in just one day! In addition to office fundraising, a brave team of nine tackled Tough Mudder, an endurance obstacle event, and raised over £2,000.
To end a year of wonderful fundraising activities, Berenberg kindly supported a truly magical event at Hampton Court Palace ice rink this by supplying lots of lovely food and drink to help families and staff warm up after enjoying a skate.
