By supporting staff volunteering activities, companies can strengthen their CSR programmes and stand out from their competitors. Corporate volunteering can be a great team building activity and a way to help motivate and inspire staff.
If your company chooses Shooting Star Children’s Hospices as their Charity of the Year you will be offered at least one day in our gardens, for a small team of 6-8 people, as part of your partnership. For companies looking for a one-off team building day we request a donation of £50 per person to cover arranging the day, supervision and a tasty lunch.
If you have large teams of staff wanting to volunteer on one day, you might want to consider taking part in our Apprentice Shop Challenge. The challenge provides a fun and innovative way for staff to volunteer and raise money at the same time. Not only will your staff enjoy their volunteering experience it will help build strong team-working, leadership and sales skills.

Apprentice Shop Challenge
Our most exciting, team building volunteer experience! The Apprentice Shop Challenge is a unique way for staff to volunteer, and building their leadership and sales skills, whilst raising vital funds for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. Find out more here.
Cheering volunteers are essential to the success of our events. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to provide the level of support we do to our incredible supporters who tackle cycling, running & trekking events to raise money for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
Events volunteers help at a wide range of challenge events e.g. Sunrise Walk; marshalling the route, Fire Walk; registering challengers and serving refreshments, Santa Skywalk; serving mulled wine, registration and selling merchandise. It’s a role suitable for those that want to get involved but are unable to make a regular commitment.
