About the role

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We have two hospices, Shooting Star House in Hampton, and Christopher’s in Guildford, as well as a hospice at home team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a credible and confident HR Business Partner to join our small Human Resources team. This is a broad generalist role at both an operational and strategic level and will deal with sensitive and complex people management matters. The role will provide guidance and support to managers within the client groups and to deliver a proactive HR service in relation to performance management, recruitment and retention, learning and development, change and project management and employee engagement.

You will have a relevant HR qualification or equivalent and need to be able to evidence experience of wide-ranging HR skills.

You will need to be a clear and influential communicator in order to be able to advise employees, coach managers and manage the HR volunteers. Your client groups may include Nursing and Care staff, Retail, Finance and IT. It would be ideal (but not essential) if you had prior experience of working within the NHS, Retail and/or charity sectors.

The rest of the HR team is based at our offices in Weybridge Business Park, Addlestone and Christopher’s hospice in Guildford. You will therefore need to be a car owner and driver in order to support your client groups and attend meetings at our offices, hospices and retail locations.
