At Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone we care for, and it is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise and understand our responsibility to promote safe practice and protect everyone from harm. Safeguarding is everyone’s business.
Safeguarding statement
Our bespoke care is for the whole family, and we work together to create a culture that embraces diversity and respects the rights of every individual within the family. Everyone deserves respect, dignity and equality and we believe that individuals should receive the support they need to reach their full potential and safe from harm.
We will ensure that
The welfare of those we care for will always be paramount.
The rights, wishes and feelings of everyone and those important to them, will be respectfully listened to.
In keeping those we care for safe from harm we will work with the multi-disciplinary team both within Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and other partners, to share information and work within the parameters of relevant legislation and guidance.
Our workforce, both staff and volunteers regardless of role, will work in accordance with the interests of all those we care for and will follow our policies and procedures.
Our Safeguarding policies and procedures ensure that we have robust systems in place to keep everyone safe.
We can therefore respond appropriately to any safeguarding concerns.
