Our Outreach, Therapy and Family support centre in Hampton offers counselling, therapies and fun activities for the families we support. Your team would be helping to maintain our gardens where jobs could include weeding flower beds, planting new flowers, jet washing, painting sheds and fences to just a general tidy up. The jobs depend on the season and the weather, but you’d be fully briefed ahead of your visit and you’ll be guided by our staff and regular volunteers.

Where you can volunteer
Shooting Star House
Distribution centre
Our charity shops play a vital role in helping to fund our care service. Our distribution centre near Woking is the hub for all of our stock and donations for these shops, and with your help we can ensure that the right stock reaches the right place. Jobs can range from sorting donations, moving winter/summer items ready for distribution, dividing items for each shop to creating and wrapping gift hampers for tombolas / raffles.

The jobs depend on the season and the weather, but you’d be fully briefed ahead of your visit and you’ll be guided by our staff and regular volunteers.
Apprentice shop challenge
Our most exciting, team building volunteer experience! The Apprentice Shop Challenge is a unique way for staff to volunteer, and building their leadership and sales skills, whilst raising vital funds for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
Other ways you can volunteer
Cheerers and event volunteering
Cheerers and event volunteers are essential to the success of our events. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to provide the level of support we do to our incredible supporters who tackle cycling, running & trekking events to raise money for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. Roles include manning cheer points, marshalling the route, registering participants and selling merchandise. Becoming an event volunteer or cheerer is perfect for those who want to get involved, but are unable to make a regular commitment.
Christmas Tree Recycling
Held every January, our Christmas tree collections are crucial in raising vital funds for our charity, and they wouldn’t be possible without the support of corporate volunteers who provide vans, drivers, and helpers. By hiring a van and volunteering your time, you can significantly contribute to this initiative while enjoying a rewarding day out of the office. This effort not only helps our cause but also strengthens team spirit and demonstrates your company’s commitment to the community.
