Corporate partners taking on our apprentice challenge

Corporate volunteering

By supporting staff volunteering activities, companies can strengthen their CSR programmes and stand out from their competitors. Corporate volunteering can be a great team building activity and a way to help motivate and inspire staff. If your company chooses Shooting Star Children’s Hospices as their Charity of the Year you will be offered at least one day in our gardens, for a small team of 6-8 people, as part of your partnership. For companies looking for a one-off team building day we request a donation of £50 per person to cover arranging the day, supervision and light refreshments. Get in touch with us to learn more.

Shooting Star House

Our Outreach, Therapy and Family support centre in Hampton offers counselling, therapies and fun activities for the families we support. Your team would be helping to maintain our gardens where jobs could include weeding flower beds, planting new flowers, jet washing, painting sheds and fences to just a general tidy up. The jobs depend on the season and the weather, but you’d be fully briefed ahead of your visit and you’ll be guided by our staff and regular volunteers.

Supporters working in our distribution centre

Distribution centre

Our charity shops play a vital role in helping to fund our care service. Our distribution centre near Woking is the  hub for all of our stock and donations for these shops, and with your help we can ensure that the right stock reaches the right place. Jobs can range from sorting donations, moving winter/summer items ready for distribution, dividing items for each shop to creating and wrapping gift hampers for tombolas / raffles.

Cheering volunteers are essential to the success of our events. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to provide the level of support we do to our incredible supporters who tackle cycling, running & trekking events to raise money for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. So join us in cheering, clapping, whooping and shouting words of encouragement to our runners and cyclists at various events throughout the year.
