Over the past few weeks the amazing Max the Brave team launched a Virtual Christmas Bake Challenge asking budding bakers to create their own baking creations to raise money for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
This is just one in a huge number of fundraisers the team have held in memory of Max who received end-of-life care at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices in 2019 after a six month battle with cancer.
Max’s family said of their latest fundraiser, “The care shown for Max and our families during this terrible time was absolutely amazing and we hope that people show their support by donating whatever they are able.”
The team were overwhelmed with so many fantastic bakes – which we had to share with you – (beware it will make your mouth water!) and of course reveal the winning bakes!
And now to announce the top three – in third place is the marvellous festive Frozen inspired chocolate bundt cake with dairy free icing from Sadie.
In second place an inventive (and delicious way) to use up that Halloween pumpkin – a salted caramel pumpkin spice cake from Kristina.
And the wonderful winner is the incredible creation by Nathaniel! A lemon drizzle cake with lemon butter cream with an super ski slope design complete with skiers!
A huge thank you to the Max the Brave team and all the bakers for such a fun, festive and tasty way of raising money – over £700 and counting, for their local children’s hospice in memory of Max.
