There is only a few days left until this year’s London Marathon, and our team of fabulous #ShootingStar runners are doing their last minute prep before the big day. One of our amazing runners, Anthony Davies, had some rather particular last minute preparations to do – so paid a visit to Christopher’s in need of some finishing touches to his intergalactic costume!
It was a day of smiles and sunshine at Christopher’s as supported children and their families welcomed lots of furry friends and enjoyed some fun activities and entertainment at our Easter Party.
Over 300 supported family members came to Christopher’s for a fun day of celebration at the end of the summer. Held annually at our Guildford hospice, the event is a chance for families to come together and enjoy various stalls, meet wonderful visitors (from feathered friends to a real life mermaid!) and relax in a safe, comfortable environment.
Making the most of the beautiful summer, our supported children and their families had the beach brought to them as Christopher’s had all things seaside-y for the families to enjoy at the beach themed activity day.
The Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club Surrey Section, and walled garden, The Medicine Garden in Cobham, treated 28 families to a special day out with luxury cars, fun entertainment and a delicious barbecue, all set to beautiful surroundings.
Children and families could ‘bearly’ contain their excitement last week as a very special Teddy Bear’s Picnic took place at Christopher’s.
On a fresh and bright Sunday morning, 3rd June, a record number of early birds took part in a walk with a difference to raise vital funds for Shooting Star Chase’s families.
Vice President, Simon Cowell and patron Lauren Silverman, led a host of stars in treating supported children and their families to an exclusive afternoon tea at The Dorchester.
On Sunday 22 April, 77 Shooting Star Chase runners raised £124,000 and counting after taking to the streets of the capital on the hottest Virgin Money London Marathon on record.
On a bright, sunshiny day, our supported children and their siblings (and quite a few of the staff) had the chance to meet some new little friends. Far from a bleating visit, two lambs, who are brother and sister hoofed it over to Christopher’s to join in the fun at an Easter themed activity day.
