Over the last few weeks we have had teams of corporate supporters in both of the hospices, as well as at our distribution centre, helping us to get ready for Christmas.
It started with a team of five from Allianz’s Guildford office helping at Christopher’s getting Christmas gifts sorted and ready for our supported children and their siblings. They worked with care team member Stacey to make sure there was a handpicked gift for each child and sibling staying in house with us over Christmas.
We then had three energetic teams from UK Cloud helping over three days at our distribution centre to get the stock ready and organised in the lead up to Christmas. Over the three days, we had over 15 individuals helping Damien, our Distribution Centre Manager, with a range of tasks. This included sorting through lots of donations such as clothes, books, trains, vintage items and they even helped us with lots of PAT testing!
Next in we had a team of three from corporate partner Natural Baby Shower who transformed our arts and crafts room at Shooting Star House into a festive Christmas grotto, ready for families to enjoy later this month. Not only did they do the decorating, but they also bought the decorations too! They joined us on Tuesday 30th November, which also happened to be Giving Tuesday, so the company kindly set up a donation widget for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices on their Instagram stories, sent a blog about the project to their customer base to help raise awareness of the charity, as well as donating 20% of the profits on that day from their Christmas shop to us and their other two chosen charity partners.
A huge thank you to each and everyone who have has supported us throughout the year – find out more about how you and your company could help their local children’s hospice charity here.
