Supported families at Shooting Star Chase had a blast at Farnborough Air Show in July, where they were treated to a VIP experience courtesy of our awesome supporters, ISTAT (International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading).
ISTAT contacted the charity and offered to host up to 100 guests with full hospitality on the last day of the event in their airshow chalet – which was right in the centre of the action and had a private viewing terrace overlooking the main arena of the show. A total of 25 supported families arrived at the show on Sunday 17 July and were treated to a police escort into the grounds where they were welcomed by Farnborough International’s Showcentre team and the ISTAT team at the chalet, before waiting staff served complimentary food and drink to the guests throughout the day.
Families enjoyed Farnborough Air Show’s host of interactive activities, exhibits and entertainment on offer, which included stunning flying displays, drone shows, a vintage car exhibition, live demonstrations in the space and innovation arenas, and live music.
Farnborough Air Show also organised for special visitors to meet and entertain the families at the chalet throughout the event – the Red Arrows staff dropped by with their cockpit helmets and jackets, children’s television presenter Angellica Bell met the children, US Pilots had their photos taken with the families, the Brietling WingWalkers wowed guests with stories of their displays, children met the event’s security dogs, and face painting and balloon makers arrived to add even more fun to the show.Each family was given a goodie bag of Farnborough Air Show memorabilia before they went home.
