Professional courses and open days

We welcome healthcare professionals to visit us at Shooting Star Children’s Hospice to learn more about the care we provide and how we can work together. We also offer a variety of professional courses throughout the year. Currently, due to Covid-19 we are running a reduced schedule of activities, but we hope to offer more events in the near future.

Professional open days at our hospices

We welcome visits from healthcare professionals including nurses, social workers and doctors to help provide a better understanding of the service we provide.

Once a month we host professional open days at each of our hospices. The visit starts with a presentation about Shooting Star Children’s Hospices which includes the history, what services are available, referral criteria and process as well as how the service is funded. This is followed by a tour of the hospice with the opportunity to ask questions and find out more from a member of our care team.

Open days take place on the third Friday of each month, and you can book a place via Eventbrite.

Professional Courses

We are hosting free half-day training sessions on ReSPECT and ACP documents for health care professionals in the Surrey and South West area. Events are on May 12th and July 13th and you can book places for these via Eventbrite
