Pelican Procurement Services have been supporting Shooting Star Children’s Hospices for over nine years. The team have not only organised and taken part in a multitude of events, but have also donated the refreshments for our entire calendar of challenge events for many years, as well as donating proportions of their profits too.
Support From Staff
Staff at Pelican have thrown themselves into fundraising over the years and have entered teams in the Nuts Challenge, It’s a Knockout, Valentines 10K run and our Hospice to Hospice Bike Ride. Their Dress-Down Fridays are also a great success and contribute hundreds of pounds each year to their fundraising total.
Challenge Event Support
Pelican also support our programme of Challenge Events by providing refreshments and energy snacks for our participants, which is a great treat for participants and an incredible cost saving for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. This support has expanded more recently to provide sweet treats for the annual Family Fun Day at Christopher’s, our Guildford hospice, for families supported by Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
Commitment to help children, young people and their families
A message from Christine Stimpson, Director at Pelican Procurement Services
“Pelican first became aware of the amazing work carried out by Shooting Star Children’s Hospices due to Christopher’s hospice being local to our office. We were, and remain keen, to support a charity which devotes its efforts to children, young people and their families. When we initially learnt about Christopher’s we realized we had found a very special organization. Over the years our employees have learnt more about Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and been keen to support the charity through participation at events and activities.”
“The team at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is, as the name suggests, a brilliant one! Without exception, everyone is a pleasure to work with. I have seen committed, dedicated and caring people who work tirelessly to raise the funds needed to provide the best levels of care and support to children, young people and their families when they need it most.”
