Leaving a gift in your will

Once you have provided for loved ones please consider leaving a gift in your will to help life-limited children, young people and their families make the most of their time together. We can promise that far beyond your lifetime, your gift will ensure future generations of children and young people will have access to specialist facilities and equipment, expertly trained staff and benefit from pioneering research to make every moment count.

How your gift will help

Just imagine giving a gift now to help families in the future. Leaving a gift in your will ensures we can make every moment count for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Today, tomorrow and for years to come. In fact, a large part of our services could be funded by gifts in wills, ensuring that the families we support have access to specialist care when they need it most. Our hospices are a lifeline to them, but we know there are many others desperate for our vital support. Once you have provided for loved ones please consider a gift in your will to help life-limited children, young people and their families make the most of their time together. If you decide to leave a gift in your will we can promise that far beyond your lifetime, your gift will ensure future generations of children and young people will have access to specialist facilities and equipment, and expertly trained staff.

Writing your will for free

As a children’s hospice charity we know how important it is to have a will and keep it updated. We have partnered with organisations to offer a free will writing service to help our supporters write a will online or face to face with a local solicitor. There is no cost for this service, so you can write your will for free. There is also no obligation to leave us a gift in your will, but we hope that you will consider it, as a gift left today can make a real difference to babies, children and young people living with life-limiting conditions in the future.

Vithal, supported grandparent

“My granddaughter, Rhea, has severe cerebral palsy. Shooting Star has given Rhea the chance to enjoy normal childhood activities and have much-needed help with her 24-hour care routine. Shooting Star never asks the families they support for any money but I thought I would like to do something to help. I have decided to give something to the charity in my will and appeal to others to do the same so the charity can continue to help families like ours.”
