By making a significant gift you are making an enormous impact on the services and support we provide to over 700 babies, children and young people who need the vital care and support of our hospice service.
“Shooting Star Children’s Hospices made a hard situation bearable. The first thing you notice when you get there is the amazing sense of peace and calm. Joseph has lots of family, and family is important to us. Our family did the whole journey with us and it was extremely important that they could all be with us at the very end, which wouldn’t have been possible in hospital and the care wouldn’t have been the same at home.” Tracey, Joseph’s mum
Your involvement and gift enables us to be there every step of a family’s journey. It helps us continue to give an outstanding level of care to those families who find themselves in the most unimaginable circumstances.
The difference you make
We provide bespoke support to those committing to us on a such a significant level, so wherever possible you will have one point of contact who can answer any questions you may have, meet you on a one-to-one basis at home, work or at one of our hospices, and provide you with a real insight into our work and the difference you’re making.
You will also be invited to exclusive events throughout the year to show our appreciation.
If you’re a UK tax payer and have given us permission, we can claim Gift Aid on your donation. We can only claim back the basic tax rate of 20%, however if you’re a higher rate income tax payer (40% or 50%) you can claim the difference between the basic rate of tax and your higher rate after making a charitable donation, increasing the value of your donation.
Other ways to give
Give a significant regular gift
You may want to help us plan for the future and make an ongoing difference to the lives of the families we support. You can do that by becoming a regular donor. If you want to donate £50 or more on a regular basis, please visit our donation page or get in touch.
Gifts in kind
It is not just financial donations that can help make a difference. Donating a gift in kind that can be used to raise funds, for example via a grand draw or auction, are also extremely welcome and greatly appreciated.

Charitable Trusts and Foundations
The funding we receive from charitable trusts and foundations is vital in enabling us to sustain the highest quality of care including providing a comprehensive therapy provision that families are unlikely to be able to access elsewhere.
We’re dedicated to working closely with trusts and foundations and will take care of all the practicalities – whether it’s finding an appropriate project that fits with your objectives and interests, providing progress reports or arranging a personal visit to see our services.
