Shooting Star Children’s Hospices invites leaders from children’s hospices and leading practitioners of Child Death Review to a National Summit to hear from experts and share knowledge. Guest speaker Julia Downing will be joined by experts and parent speakers. We will be showing how, in just one year, Shooting Star Children’s Hospices has managed to reach 300% more families impacted by the death of a child. We have meticulously captured our learnings along the way so that other hospices, charities and child death review teams can benefit. Attend our Summit to hear more.

Speakers

Professor Julia Downing – Keynote speaker

Professor Downing is an experienced palliative care nurse, educationalist and researcher. She is the Chief Executive of the International Children’s Palliative Care Network (ICPCN) and Professor at universities in Uganda, Serbia and the UK.

Dr Joanna Garstang

Dr Joanna Garstang is a Clinical Associate Professor at University of Birmingham and a Consultant Community Paediatrician. Her specialist areas are in safeguarding children, Child Death Review and Sudden Unexpected Death in Childhood.
