Every year some of the families supported by Shooting Star Children’s Hospices have the chance to visit the most magical and magnificent grotto at the wonderful Woodlarks.

This special experience takes three months to create by the amazing Woodlarks team, which takes visitors through the woodland grounds of the site.

The charity based in Farnham is a residential activity centre with fully accessible buildings and grounds for people with all kinds of disabilities.

Staffed by volunteers all dressed in full festive attire the families were welcomed along a beautifully lit trail. Throughout the woodlark walk they enjoyed a storytelling session with the snow lady.

After the walk they entered the magnificent grotto to meet Father Christmas as well as the elves. Supported children and their siblings were given time to chat to Father Christmas and of course receive a present or two!

Afterwards they all got to see Father Christmas ride off on his sleigh – (well he does have a busy night ahead soon!)

Barbie Hibberd, Activities Coordinator at Christopher’s said, “We would like to pass on our huge thanks to each and everyone at Woodlarks – it’s such a wonderful opportunity for the children and families and it’s such a joy to come and see them each year.”
