Celebrating our fantastic corporates over the festive season
Christmas is a very special time for families and our wonderful family of corporate supporters ensured through fantastic fundraising, gift donations and giving up their time, that we could create special memories and treats for those we support.
There are so many companies we’d like to thank, but here are just a few examples that we’d love to highlight to express our thanks.
This year we saw the return of our Amazon Wish List, full of wonderful things for supported children and our hospices. We feel incredibly humbled to receive hundreds of Christmas gifts, not only from organisations but from individuals too. From toys to arts and crafts items and even gardening items, there was something for everyone!
We particularly want to thank Fluor and Verint for the wide variety of toys and items needed by the hospices which were purchased from the list.
Corporate Partner 1762 from Brewin Dolphin also kindly donated gifts collected under their office Christmas tree, and had them delivered to our Hampton hospice, Shooting Star House. They also sent some beautifully boxed and wrapped Christmas Puddings to give out to families to be enjoyed over Christmas.
Novacyt sponsored a skate event for families during the festive period, the Hampton Court Ice Skating night for supported and bereaved families. On the evening families had an exclusive opportunity to enjoy a few laps around the ice as well as refreshments afterwards. Thank you must also go to Arena Group for facilitating this wonderful event.
FG Barnes, including the Bishop Group and the Surrey Advertiser Group once again held a fundraising Christmas Appeal in aid of their local children’s hospice charity. 2021 marked the 15th year of the partnership, which up until 2019 asked supports to buy an extra Christmas present to be donated to the hospices and families we support. Due to the pandemic, toy donations haven’t been possible for the past two years, so this year they set up a Just Giving campaign asking supporters and readers to help raise money. Interviewing a supported family, and some of our care team, including a special tour of the hospice to share with readers and encourage support, the appeal raised an amazing £1,666 to help us continue to be there for families.
It wasn’t just gifts that were given this Christmas, as some creative companies came up with festive fundraising events throughout the season, despite the ongoing challenging Covid restrictions. RX in Richmond once again held their fantastic Christmas Cracker fundraiser that included a raffle, bake sale, auction, wine sale and Christmas carolling. They even had a visit from the big man himself and raised an incredible £6,407.
Burbeck Interiors held a fantastic bake sale and generously matched the total raised, and we had brilliant Christmas raffles organised by both Kier and Buckingham Group.
Helping us get suitably festive, a huge thank you to the organisations who gave up their time to help our Care team and wider organisation get ready for Christmas. A big thank you to UKCloud who helped in our Distribution Unit over three days to make sure our shops were filled with fantastic items in the lead up to Christmas.
Giving their time and creative talents, Natural Baby Shower transformed our Arts and Crafts room into a beautiful Santa’s Grotto, ready for families to visit Father Christmas before he had to to the North Pole.
Interbay Asset Finance kindly provided us with lots of decorations to transform our Sensory Walkway into an illuminated Christmas walkway; and Allianz and Teapigs gave their time and wrapping expertise, helping our Care team to wrap presents for our supported children and siblings to open on Christmas day. With their help we were able to bring a little Christmas magic to the children and their families we care for.
