Spooktacular Halloween drop-in
Things got a little slimy at our October Drop-In session! We had several spooky craft activities set up for families to enjoy. Pinecones were turned into quirky little spiders with googly eyes, glass jars were made into pumpkin-coloured lanterns to put out at night and everyone got an opportunity to decorate their own cupcake with brightly coloured butter cream and sugared worm decorations.
Naturally the most gruesome activity was the slime making table, this sensory activity was exciting for everyone, even the adults.
We also had a fang-tastic Halloween wreath-making activity with sticks that were collected from the woods by Jannette our Care events volunteer. The parents especially enjoyed making these and had the option of decorating them with cobwebs and felt bats.
Angie, (who regularly comes in to do sensory storytimes), darkened our Garden Room to create the perfect atmosphere for a nighttime sensory story, which was quite the hoot!
