Youth Group sailing day
Last Friday our Youth Group headed down to Frensham Pond for a sailing session with Frensham Pond Sailing Club as part of their Sailability programme. Sailability offers people, who because of a long term illness or disability, the chance to learn and enjoy sailing.
Each supported young person went out in their own boat with an instructor to help guide them and were out on the water for at least 45 minutes at a time. The club also provided a hoist for those who needed assistance getting into their boat, which meant everyone could have a go!
One mum said, “Thank you so much for such an amazing day. Stan loved it and it was so nice to see other parents we haven’t spoken to for a while and have a good catch-up.”
After the children had enjoyed their time out on the water, the staff were offered the chance to give it a go and a few took up the offer! Overall a great day was had by all!
