June marked our Virtual Sunrise Walk month – asking our super supporters to see the sunrise their way whilst raising money for their local children’s hospice charity – and support us they did – raising an amazing £10,345!

With walks very much a solace for us all over the past year, our walkers were joined by friends, family and not forgetting our four legged friends to take on 10km or 20km walks.

Being virtual meant our 72 wonderful Virtual Sunrise Walkers could walk where they wished and between them covered the breadth of the UK from Weybridge to Wales and shared with us some amazing photos our triumphant teams captured this June.

Alexa Dizon, Head of Challenge Events at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices said, “We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has taken part in our Virtual Sunrise Walk this June. We know it’s been an extremely strange time for us all, so for people to take time out of their busy lives and raise such a phenomenal amount for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices really means so much and will make such a difference.

“We’re also thrilled to announce that our Guildford Sunrise Walk is back later this year – so hope people are inspired by our Virtual Sunrise Walk team, and come and join us this on Sunday 17 October and make it their moment to shine! We can’t wait to welcome everyone back!”

The Guildford trail takes walkers through parts of the beautiful North Downs Way – where you can expect to see a kaleidoscope of colour basked in glorious autumnal sunshine. Sign up today!
