We’re always blown away by the wonderful and imaginative ideas our supporters come up with. One ‘drawsome’ young fundraiser, seven-year-old Jaya, decided to create some very special drawings to raise money for her local children’s hospice charity.
Jaya explains in a note, “I would like to raise money for Shooting Star which is a children’s hospice. To raise money I will draw a picture of a kid who has done something cool, every day for ten days! I would love your help! Will you sponsor me please?”
And sponsor her they did, with Jaya smashing her original fundraising target of £100 tenfold – raising a phenomenal £1000!
Jaya’s mum, Pari said, “Jaya completed her artwork fundraiser and has drawn 11 kids who have done something cool. It’s been a beautiful project. Her goal was to raise £100 and she’s hit £1000 and looks set to still get a bit more. She’s loved learning about the kid’s she’s drawn and is so happy to be able to support the lives and families of kids at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. She’s just turned 7 and I think this is the thing she’s most proud of having achieved.”
Looking at some of her wonderful drawings, you can see why Jaya is so proud – and so are we!
A huge thank you to Jaya for such an imaginative and creative fundraiser and to everyone who sponsored her! There are lots of ways you can support us – find out more fundraising ideas here.
