Andrew Coppel, our Chair of the Board of Trustees, took on a super cycling challenge this August to raise money for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
Andrew, accompanied by his anaesthetist registrar son Jonny, braved the questionable English summer weather to cycle an amazing 50 miles to Richmond Park, five laps round and back to Esher, with seemingly headwinds the whole time!
Andrew Coppel said, “Its a privilege to be the Chair of the Board of Trustees for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. The charity provides a lifeline to families facing the unimaginable and we must continue to develop our services to support the growing needs of children with life-limiting conditions and their families. In order to do so, we need to raise vital funds so foolishly or otherwise, I volunteered to undertake a 50-mile bike ride to help raise some money. It was a tough challenge but worth every mile to have raised almost £4,000 – an enormous thank you to everyone who donated.”
Huge congratulations to Andrew and Jonny for undertaking such a challenge and raising such a huge amount to help us continue to be there for families now and into the future.
