107 Santa’s cycled for Shooting Star in record-breaking fundraiser
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices was filled with festive cheer once again as Njinga’s Santa Cycle returned for the 13th consecutive year to host its much-loved annual fundraiser.
Despite early winter temperatures, 107 cyclists dressed in all things festive, took to their bikes, pedalling from Richmond via our Hampton sit, Shooting Star House, and on to Twickenham. Bathed in winter sunshine, the riders raised a record-breaking £12,109, including Gift Aid, to support our vital work with local children and families.

As well as raising funds, the cyclists delivered a generous collection of gifts for our Santa’s Grotto, helping to create special moments and lasting memories for the children supported us.
Laura McCaul, Senior Public Fundraising Manager at Shooting Star said, “The Santa Cycle is an event we look forward to every year, and we are so grateful for the hard work, dedication and generosity that make it possible. Thank you Njinga, for helping us create magical moments for our families.”

A spokesperson from Njinga shared, “It was another truly magical day on our bikes, seeing so many Santa’s get up in the cold and cycle to the hospice to deliver gifts. It is always so special watching riders who’d never met before chatting and laughing as well as getting friendly waves from drivers and pedestrians along the route. We heard from so many people on the day, it really is the best start to the festive season and for such a fantastic cause.”
