Sensory Days are specifically for children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties between the ages of 5 and 21, and their families.
Sensory days run in the school holidays and are a chance for the whole family to be involved in a fun session and have the opportunity to explore and experience appropriate sensory activities together.
Sensory Days are usually divided into two sessions: a morning session for children between 5 and 10 years and an afternoon session for children 11 years and older.
Each session is a fun and interactive time using a mix of sensory and craft activities around a theme for the day such as ‘The Seaside’ or ‘Fun at the Fair’ with a break for refreshments.
The days gives families the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation and experience new skills using sensory activities that they can use at home.
