Christopher’s, our purpose built children’s hospice in Guildford, Surrey, first opened its doors in November 2001.

With nine children’s bedrooms and five family flats as well as a host of specialist facilities, Christopher’s is a home from home for families of children with life-limiting conditions.

The hospice had a huge refurbishment in 2017 thanks to the generosity of our corporate partners and donors and now looks even more amazing than it did before!

Some of our favourite rooms include:

Sensory room – a place to relax and sooth distressed children, and for those with profound multiple learning difficulties it provides a stimulating environment supporting non-verbal communication.

Hydrotherapy pool – as well as offering physical benefits, like aiding mobility and helping muscle tone and strength, our hydrotherapy pool offers emotional benefits, providing fun and memorable experiences for all the family to enjoy together.

Art therapy room – a very popular places for children to explore their creative sides.

Cinema room – multi-coloured remote blackout blinds, impressive surround sound, stunning hue lighting and a giant screen all create the ultimate sensory experience in our state of the art cinema room.

Garden – there’s lots of outdoor space at Christopher’s, including a sensory garden perfect to relax in, a large garden for fun full of space and accessible equipment to play and a memory garden to take a moment to reflect.

The Den – a space for teenagers to enjoy all their favourite things.

Soft play – who doesn’t love a soft play? A great place for children to let off steam and have some fun with their family.

See for yourself how lovely Christopher’s is on our Virtual Tour:

“When you’re out in the community you can feel isolated and separate from the rest of society but at Christopher’s you just feel normal, you don’t feel like an outsider. It is like an extended part of our family.” Sophie, Isabel’s mum.
