Counselling

Our team of experienced counsellors offer specialist psychological support through a series of confidential counselling sessions. Our counsellors can help you think through emotional difficulties that are affecting your day-to-day life. Counselling sessions are confidential. In this safe environment, you are in control of bringing issues that are important to you, that you feel ready to talk about. If you’re not sure where to start, our counsellors will gently guide you through thinking about your needs and hopes. All our counsellors are registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Contact us to talk about how some couples counselling sessions might help you.

Counselling we offer

Who is counselling available for

Parents, young people and grandparents can seek counselling support. Sessions can be arranged in-person, virtually or by phone at Christopher’s or Shooting Star House. If you think this may be helpful to you, we will make a time to meet answer any questions you have. For younger siblings we offer arts based therapy sessions.

Couples counselling

Couples counselling is a talking therapy with a focus on the relationship. The aim is for partners to gain a better understanding of each other. The physical and emotional demands of caring for a life-limited child can put a strain on the relationships within your family. Our specialist couples counsellors can work with parents who feel that some support would be of benefit to them. Coming to counselling together can provide a safe confidential space to explore difficulties and help find a way through them. This could be to help process difficult feelings, challenges, grief or to improve communication.
