Day to day help for bereaved families

We know that alongside having to cope with grief, many families we support also face day-to-day struggles. Here you can find a range of support on offer, including foodbanks, financial advice and links to other useful services.

Contact our family support team for information on:

Cost of living

We understand that many families worry about their finances and this can be difficult to talk about. We have created a checklist you can use to identify organisations that can help you which you might not be aware of.

If you do want to talk about this, we want to listen. We can share our extensive knowledge of funds, grants and charities that may be able to help you with the cost of living or special experiences.

Food Bank Vouchers

If you are struggling with affording food for your family, we can provide vouchers to use in a local food bank close to where you live. All families supported by Shooting Star Children’s Hospices are eligible for these. Contact us to request vouchers and we will be discrete and sensitive in supporting you.

Welfare support

Your family may be eligible for social care support, but navigating the system can be difficult. Our Social Workers are on hand to help guide you and find out what further services or professionals may be available to support your family’s specific needs.
