Christopher’s welcomed visitors to enjoy its garden

July 17, 2023

On a very blustery Saturday, our Guildford hospice, Christopher’s, welcomed visitors to its garden as part of the National Garden Scheme.

The garden was open for the first time to the public as part of the scheme, allowing people to explore the different areas, from the Sensory Walkway, Memory Garden and the Brewin Dolphin Garden, which was donated and repurposed from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show silver medal winning garden designed by Paul Hervey-Brookes.

Despite the changeable weather, (from wind to rain and bright sunshine!) there was a steady stream of visitors, from garden enthusiasts to families who had been previously supported by us.

Visitors could also enjoy a refreshing tea or coffee and some delicious sweet treats, kindly baked by our hospice kitchen and some of our volunteers.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers and staff who helped to make the day possible. We’re always in need of volunteers to help support us in the hospices, at events and our shops – find out more and available roles on our Volunteers page.
