Half‑Term magic at Shooting Star House
Half term was full of colour, creativity and excitement at Shooting Star House, with families joining us for two brilliant events: a buzzing Mega Monday inspired by Chinese New Year, and a magic Siblings Day that brought wonder and laughter to everyone who took part. From lantern‑making and face painting to spellbinding tricks and a live magic show, the week was packed with joyful moments and memory‑making fun for children, siblings and parents alike.
Mega Monday saw 24 people through the doors of Shooting Star House to join in some half term excitement. We had all things Chinese New Year – with lanterns, horses, and fortune cookies. There was a fun-filled atmosphere, with the opportunity for children and parents to have their faces painted! Lots of smiles came away with footballs, unicorns and rainbows on cheeks and foreheads. What a wonderful way to start the week!

A magic-themed Siblings Day took the stage, as 12 of our siblings got hands on with magic tricks, crafts, and a magic show. Bunny rabbits jumping out of hats, pom poms hiding under cups and coins behind ears – there was a trick for everyone! We were delighted to welcome Richard Pinner to perform a magic show, with bundles of laughter and true magic leaving the children beaming from ear to ear. Siblings spent the end of the day learning their own magic tricks with a showcase demonstrating many potential magicians! Many moments for magical memories.
