Help us make every cuddle count this Children’s Hospice Week

Launching today, Friday 13 June, and throughout Children’s Hospice Week until Sunday 22 June, Shooting Star Children’s Hospices are running a special 10-day appeal, asking supporters to donate to help make every cuddle count.

Our aim is to raise enough money to buy a cuddle bed for their hospice, so families have the chance to enjoy cuddles when it matters most. A cuddle bed transforms a standard hospice bed into a double bed at the touch of a button, comfortably accommodating two people. This allows families to lay beside their loved one, providing closeness and connection.

After being given the devastating news that their son, Dylan-James’ cancer had returned, his family spent his last week at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices making memories they’d cherish forever. Alison, Dylan-James’ mum shared, “It means so much to be able to be as close as possible. Having physical contact is so priceless. To give families comfort in those last moments is invaluable.”

We’re hoping to raise £15,000 over the 10-day period in order to purchase a cuddle bed, so families like Dylan-James’ have the chance to make every cuddle count.

Donate to our appeal and hear more about the importance of specially adapted equipment like this to families from Dylan-James’ mum, Alison.
