Motivational Business Breakfast Event
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices was delighted to welcome 22 supporters, from 12 different companies to our most recent Business Breakfast at Christopher’s, our purpose-built children’s hospice in Guildford.
The early morning start didn’t deter attendees, who arrived promptly at 8:30am, eager to seize the opportunity to mingle with Shooting Star’s fundraising team, connect with fellow companies, and (in some cases) proudly display their hard-earned London Marathon medals.
After everyone had enjoyed their morning refreshments, they were welcomed and had the opportunity to hear from Paul Farthing, our Chief Executive, who provided an update on our extended bereavement service and thanked them for their incredible efforts in supporting Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
The timing couldn’t have been better for attendees involved in previous walking, trekking, and running activities, as they were treated to insights and anecdotes from the Challenge Events team, who highlighted upcoming events and shared memorable stories from past challenges.
With brains bursting with ideas and information, attendees then split into small groups for a short tour of the hospice. Our amazing team pulled out all the stops to showcase our facilities. From the relaxing hydrotherapy pool, where our wonderful physiotherapist, Ginny, shared insights, to the tranquil Willow Suites, where families receive bereavement support from one of our Family Support Workers, Louise.
The day was not only an opportunity for networking and learning but also a chance to witness first-hand the impact of support on the lives of families. As the sun shone down on the hospice’s beautiful gardens, it was clear that the event left a lasting impression on all who attended, with feedback full of appreciation and enthusiasm.
“It was excellent,” an attendee said.
“It gave such a wonderful insight into the hospice and the team, who are clearly passionate and caring in their various roles. You are all an inspiration.”
Another said, “It was a fantastic event and it was great to see the hospice and the amazing work you guys do in person. We left feeling so motivated and energised to do what we could to help. Thanks again.”
