Terms and Conditions for Shooting Star’s charity shop window display movie competition. October 2024

Promoter
The promoter of this competition is Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, a registered charity in the United Kingdom, charity registration number 1042495, whose registered office is located at [Charity Address].

  1. Eligibility
    2.1 The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over, except employees of Shooting Star, and their immediate families, agents, or any third party (including volunteers) directly associated with the administration of the competition.
    2.2 Entry is free, and no purchase is necessary.
    2.3 Proof of eligibility may be required.
  2. Competition Entry
    3.1 To enter, participants must complete the entry form on www.shootingstar.org.uk by 8am, Monday 14th October.
    3.2 Only one entry per person for each shop window is permitted. Multiple entries by the same person or fraudulent entries will be disqualified.
    3.3 No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason, including technical faults or delays.
  3. Prize
    4.1 The prize for this competition is a £100 gift voucher for Heartwood Inns
    4.2 The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and no cash alternative is available.
    4.3 The promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make it necessary to do so.

  1. Winner Selection and Notification
    5.1 The winner will be chosen at random by an independent adjudicator or a randomised computer process within 7 days of the closing date.
    5.2 The winner will be notified by email 7 days of the draw. If the winner does not respond to the promoter within 7 days of being notified, the prize will be forfeited, and the promoter reserves the right to select another winner.
    5.3 The decision of the promoter regarding any aspect of the competition is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  2. Publicity
    6.1 By entering the competition, participants agree to the use of their name and image in any promotional material related to the competition if they win, including on social media, unless they notify the promoter in writing that they do not wish to participate in such publicity.
  3. Data Protection
    7.1 Any personal data relating to participants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation (Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR) and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent, except for the purpose of administering the competition. Participants may optionally sign up to also receive Shooting Star’s twice monthly eNews, which can be unsubscribed from at any point.
    7.2 By entering the competition, participants agree to the collection, retention, and use of their personal data for the purposes of the competition and the associated marketing as stated in the Privacy Policy
  4. Liability
    8.1 The promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any participant entering the competition or as a result of accepting any prize.
    8.2 The promoter is not responsible for any technical issues or failures that may affect participation or the operation of the competition.
  5. General
    9.1 The promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
    9.2 If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
    9.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
