Join us for an unforgettable 5-day sailing adventure with Ocean Youth Trust. An event for siblings 12+ to build friendships and have fun!
This unique 5-day residential sailing trip is for supported and bereaved siblings who are aged 12 or older.
Hosted by Ocean Youth Trust aboard the sailing vessel Prolific, the voyage offers an incredible opportunity for young people to learn new skills, gain independence, and connect with others who share similar experiences.
This trip provides a safe, supportive space for siblings to relax, share experiences and simply be themselves. Past voyages have been described as “full of laughter, learning, exploring and friendship,” with young people returning more confident and connected.
What to expect:
- Life at Sea: You will live onboard for 4 nights, taking part in every aspect of sailing life—steering, navigating, cooking, cleaning, and teamwork.
- Adventure & Exploration: Sail from Southampton to wherever the wind takes us; to the Isle of Wight or France (weather permitting) – it’s up to you.
- Skills & Qualifications: Learn sailing techniques and work towards the RYA Start Yachting qualification.
- Friendship & Support: Build lasting friendships with other siblings who understand your journey, supported by Shooting Star’s Family Support Team.
- Fun & Confidence: Enjoy games, beach visits and onboard activities while developing resilience, teamwork and independence
