Ready for the adventure of a lifetime?
In 2027 the Tour de France is coming to Edinburgh, and YOU could test out the route! Same roads, same climbs, one day ahead of the professionals. On the 1st of July, after a night of preparation in Edinburgh, you can put your cycling skills to the test on a beautiful course with rolling landscapes, leaving Scotland and heading towards the west coast of England. This unforgettable experience will challenge you across 120 miles and 7100 feet of climbing.
Your hard work will be rewarded by stunning scenery and an immense sense of achievement. Most importantly, you will ride knowing you’re supporting families with a baby, child or young-person with a life-limited condition, or have been bereaved, across west London and Surrey. As if crossing the finish line wasn’t enough, the following day you’ll have the chance to watch the professionals take on the first stage of the race, from Edinburgh, soaking up the unforgettable atmosphere of this iconic sporting event!

The Grand Depart 2027 FAQs
Yes, the more the merrier! However, each person will need to sign up separately and reach their own individual fundraising goal.
It will not be a closed roads route. Most of the roads are fairly quite but you should be confident riding on roads with traffic, as we cannot predict the exact conditions.
We will endeavour to follow the route as closely as possible, but any deviations for safety or respect to race organisation will be taken.
The Discover Adventure team will organise transport from Carlisle back to Edinburgh, after your day of cycling.
Road bikes will be most suitable. E-bikes and other, heavier bikes are allowed, if you let the Discover Adventure team aware in advance.
No, you must make your own arrangements to and from Edinburgh. You must be responsible of bringing your own bike and equipment to the meeting point.
A full kit list will be provided upon registration. You must provide your own bike.
