It’s that time of year again when we would like to borrow the Bereaved Siblings (5+)for a day at Shooting Star House! Things are about to get messy, so please ensure you look closely at the kit list below.
Our siblings’ days help children find comfort in being with other bereaved siblings and a chance to make some new friends or meet up with ones they have met before.
Amongst several therapeutic activities, we will be using the hydrotherapy pool for a splashy swimming session and are also lucky enough to be joined by Rocksteady, who will be leading our siblings in a musical workshop! Activities are supported by our team of therapists to ensure we give siblings the emotional support they need. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the therapeutic activities throughout the day.
Kit list
- Swimmers and a towel
- Waterproof coat
- Change of clothes
- Water bottle
- Packed lunch/last night’s dinner in a Tupperware (NO NUTS or KIWI PLEASE)
- Any medicines in a named bag and handed to staff on arrival
We try to encourage children to be independent and say goodbye in reception. Please let us know if you think your child might struggle and we can make sure a friendly face is there to greet them.
